Komet Endo Rescue Kit for removal of fractured instrument

The fracture of an instrument during an endodontic treatment not only causes the dentist enormous stress, it also poses an increased risk of post-endodontic complications to the patient. The removal of such fragments is often extremely difficult and almost impossible to plan

The Endo Rescue Kit provides a simple and systematic solution, providing access to the opening of the root canal and allowing the removal of the fractured instrument (rotary NiTi instruments).

Instrument fracture is most frequently caused by incorrect or insufficient preparation of the canal access or the access cavity, which is why the first step to rectify the situation is a correct and precise repreparation of the access by means of conventional instruments

The use of an endodontic bur with non-cutting tip in size XXL is recommended to improve vision

Once the canal opening has been relocated and access to the head of the fragment has been created, two specifically developed instruments allow to simplify a previously complicated act:

• A centre drill excavates the last few millimetres, allowing access to the fragment
• An extremely fine trepan bur is placed onto the fragment which is then seized by the bur and held in place by dentin residues. The fragment is then pulled out of the root in rotary motion
