Mephitis Mephitica is a suitable remedy for respiratory conditions like whooping cough and hoarseness of voice. There is sudden contraction of glottis when drinking or talking. Food goes down in wrong way. The patient cannot exhale. There is spasmodic and whooping cough with few paroxysms in day time but many at night. It also helps in cough from talking. Violent spasmodic cough is worse at night. It also helps in hoarseness and rawness with pains through chest.
