EtchArrest dual-purpose acid barrier/neutralizer is applied before etching to protect adjacent hard and soft tissues and existing restorations. Use it to neutralize porcelain etch before removal to prevent acidic splatter. It is viscous enough to not run on vertical surfaces, yet it can still flow into tiny irregularities.
INDICATIONS:
EtchArrest neutralizer is designed to protect hard and soft tissues and nearby restorations during treatment when a rubber dam is not practical or possible. After etching is complete, stir to combine EtchArrest with the etchant to neutralize the acids, then rinse the etchant away without fear of acidic spray damaging soft tissues.
Clinicals
Using EtchArrest neutralizer during porcelain restorations
??EtchArrest acid barrier/neutralizer protects adjacent porcelain and soft tissue from hydrofluoric acid. For situations where dentin/enamel are present in a preparation, use Ultra-Etch® phosphoric acid first to etch the tooth, then hydrofluoric acid second to etch the porcelain. This will ensure that dentin/enamel bond strengths are not compromised. Hydrofluoric acid will reduce adhesion to dentin and enamel, so EtchArrest prevents accidental migration onto tooth structure
